Don‘t expect much advice from me on Breastfeeding. Today, as Henry reaches his six-month “birthday(?)”, he’ll be expanding his diet; however, I assume the weaning process will be gradual. My Wife Breastfed both of our Children, and Our Daughter has done successfully doing so with our Grandson. And, he sure doesn’t look like he has missed any meals. As I previously noted, the World Health Organization recommends Mother’s Milk only for the first six months.
I ran across the linked “Milk Drunk” article, by Kim Simon, in Huff Post Parents, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kim-simon/milk-drunk-breastfeeding_b_3494130.html. Actually, I didn’t even know that the Huffington Post had a Parents Section. This is truly a tremendous , and emotional, article, and it surely shows a different point-of-view with regard to Breastfeading.
There are also some very interesting links in Mrs. Simon’s article, especially the one about whether hospitals encourage New Moms to Bottle Feed. On the H/P Parents web page, I believe, there are some other equally interesting articles: “What Happened When My Son Wore A Pink Headband To Wal-Mart” and “10 Things I Want My Daughter To Know Before She Turns 10”.
