THE BEST PIECE THAT I HAVE SEEN ON THE BOSTON MARATHON …AND ITS AFTERMATH

I’m sure that you are as overwhelmed as I am by all the repetitive, nondescript media coverage from Boston. Do we really think that a telephone call from Retired Congressman Barney Frank was Breaking News? Or watching the students evaluated from a U Mass apartment, at 2:00 PM, when we already saw it at 8:00 AM?

Vernon Loeb is ad Editor for The Washington Post. He has run 61 Marathons and last Monday was his 17th in Boston. He has also reported from War Zones, and covered the Pentagon and CounterIntelligence at the CIA. Besides, as far as I’m concerned, he’s a damn good writer.

Mr. Loeb’s literally on-the-ground story is linked as follows: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/ive-run-marathons-and-reported-on-terrorism-not-usually-on-the-same-day/2013/04/18/bba56074-a784-11e2-b029-8fb7e977ef71_print.html. Like so many other runners, he has already committed to Run Again Next Year!
