There is a product that is arguably the most in demand by “people who know”. It literally leads the league in having aficionados who swear by it. Hints: NO, it’s not an Apple product; a cold cola drink or a luxury car. Unfortunately, the product is most often used by people who don’t really need one–and, perhaps, shouldn’t even have access to one.
Give-up yet? The attached article, by Andrew E. Kramer, in today’s NY Times, Importing Russia’s Top Gun, will clue you in in the linked article, http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/15/business/a-kalashnikov-factory-in-russia-survives-on-sales-to-us-gun-owners.html?ref=business.
Surely just about everyone has heard of the AK-47, made by the Izhevsk Machine Works, nicknamed the “Armory of Russia”. But, how much do you really know about this deadly weapon? These attack weapons were designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in (what else) 1947. The Izhevsk company is depending on the US market for its survival. That’s, of course, because the US Gun Ownership Laws are arguably the most lenient in the World. Too bad!
Although only the Civilian Version, the Saiga, is supposedly exported to the US, I believe that gun dealers can modify it for automatic (continuous) firing, just like the Glock semi-automatic handgun, used in Aurora, Colo.., was modified to accept a 100 round clip.
These are truly Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs). As I posted previously, I really do agree with the NRA…JUST THIS ONCE! Every time there is a call for stricter Gun Laws, the National Rifle Association states that we should enforce the Gun Laws that we have. Of course, then the NRA has their well-financed Lobbyists in Washington go to work on the Administration and Congress, working against doing even that.
